A bit about us...
One of APCO's founding principles was to provide people in regional areas with quality, essential fuels at competitive prices; this value continues to be a company focus today. The overall philosophy is to support the local community and one tangible way of doing this is by being a leader in the field of independent fuel pricing. Fuel is sold at a fair price and we aim to provide the most competitive prices in town. Fuel is purchased directly from refineries, picked up by our own trucks and drivers and delivered directly to our stores. It is important to us to support locally manufactured product and further support Australian jobs. Our business has grown to support this with the added convenience of an outstanding range of hot and cold food and beverages, cafe and grocery facilities which are proudly high quality and fairly priced, with good old-fashioned friendly service.
How it all began...
Ron Anderson joined the Vacuum Oil Company in 1962 working as a regional representative at Seymour in Shepparton. He was then promoted to be the Retail Representative for the Melbourne Moonee Ponds area. He was later promoted again to Head Office and was given the responsibility to open the Mobil Representative & Distribution training Centre in Camperdown.
APCO became an Independent Distributor in the late 1960’s
In 1968 Ron & Margaret Anderson became an Independent Distributor, Anderson Petroleum Company (APCO), with their first petroleum business opening in Warrnambool, Victoria, which is still in operation today.
APCO expanded its wholesale and retail business to Geelong in the early 1980’s with Peter Anderson joining his parents. More retail sites began to appear throughout Geelong and regional Victoria and the APCO brand was expanding.
The first APCO Easy Shop was opened in 1980 in Geelong
In 1980 APCO's first Retail Site was developed and Victoria’s first APCO Easy Shop was opened. Our EasyShop has grown over the years and we have evolved our Easy Shop from convenient snacks, drinks, grab and go food and grocery essentials plus an amazing cafe-style offering with fresh made hot and cold food, barista made coffee and sweet treats for our customers which is known as cafe24-7. Our dim sims and battered savs are as good as you remember them and our rolls, muffins, toasties and jaffles have helped set us apart from the other roadside convenience service stations. We pride ourselves on our impeccable service, stores, friendliness and food and drinks.
Today we have 27 stores in Victoria and NSW, and growing
APCO is thriving. Specialising in petrol, auto gas, convenience and a foodservice offering under the cafe24-7 banner which offers award-winning barista style coffee, breakfast & freshly made on-the-go food we operate in some outer Melbourne metro areas and key regional centers across Victoria and in NSW.
We operate our own Kitchen Production facility from our Support Office in Geelong which supplies many of our sites with fresh made food ie salads, pies, cakes, rolls, breakfast bowls and pots, fruit salads and take-home meals.
Eight of our sites are associated with IGA X-Press offering an expanded convenience offering for customers and essential grocery, fresh produce and general household items.
We also offer delivery via DoorDash, Menulog and Ubereats at select stores.
We are continually innovating the format of our stores and product offers to excite and delight, and provide a better experience for our customers.
As a testament of our vision our Wangaratta store were awarded NACS APAC Retailer of the Year in 2022.
We pride ourselves on being the friendliest place to fill up your car and satisfy your thirst and hunger.
