Friday night the 11th October we had our opening launch of the Foundation. We combined this with a fundraiser for our first project Cops n Kids.
We had over 110 people attend and were well supported by our franchisees and their staff, and our suppliers who supported us were amazing. It's a tough climate and to see so many of our trade partners give so generously was greatly appreciated! There's a special thank you for all those who work with us who came and supoorted the night.
There was a lot of fun had with the silent auction and bidding was fierce! The major auction items attracted some very heavy duty bidding and the bottle of Coonawarra donated by the Di Margio family went to a group of franchisees who paid $1000 for it!
John Dunne from the Geelong racing club was our MC for the night and he did a great job of keeping us moving along and draggiing money out of our guests for auction items. Ian Cover from the Coodhavebeens Champions graced us with his presence and etertained the crowds with his stories of his years in radio.
Richard Marles our local member for Corio was our special guest who cut our red ribbon and officially opened the foundation. It was a great night and we raised over $8,000 dollars hopefully closer to $9,000 as we are still waiting for some of the money to come in. We will post the exact amount as soon as we know.
Chas Cole deserves a special mention as they have launched an APCO Foundation Wine Label. They have a red from Mclaren Vale, a Sav Blanc, and a French Bubbly! Every bottle sold means more money for the foundation.
So Thank you to everyone who worked so tirelessly for the night and to all the APCO community that so generously supported us, this is just the beginning
